• A town in Texas got itself renamed for free cable:
  The town, DISH located in Denton County, was previously known as Clark. However one day in the year 2005, the satellite TV company DISH made Clark an offer to rename itself as DISH in exchange for getting ten years’ free TV service along with a digital video recorder. The rest, as you know, is history. The town got renamed and its residents enjoyed free cable service for the next decade!

• A town in Texas re-scheduled Halloween as it conflicted with Football:
  Do you think you love football? Well, no more than the town of Decatur! In the year 2014, Decatur - a small town in Texas rescheduled Halloween as it conflicted with a high school’s Football game on Friday Night. So, instead of October 31, Halloween was celebrated on October 30th so that the town people could all enjoy a good game of Football!

• Texas experiences 139 tornadoes on an average annually:
  ‍Texas happens to be a very tornado prone state and on an average, experiences about 139 tornadoes per year. All the residents are well aware about the safety protocols to be followed in case a tornado strikes and are always prepared for one, no matter the month or the season!

• Milking someone else’s cow in Texas is illegal:
  Shocking, yet true! It is considered illegal to milk someone else;s cow in Texas. Not only this, but there are other quirky laws as well. For example, selling your eye is considered illegal too. Also, shooting a buffalo from the second floor of any hotel and dusting a public building with a feather duster are also illegal activities.
