VALENTINE/VOLLENTINE, HENRY m. MARY ANN MAY, dau. of JOHN MAY, in JACKSON CO. sometime before the Texas Revolution.  Have not found the marriage record. HENRY was listed on the 1837 Tax Roll for the Nacogdoches Dist. Was also found on the 1840 Jackson Co. Tax Roll with 1 poll & 7 cattle. After TX Revolution was given land grant in Lavaca Co. JOHN MAY & his sons were also listed on the 1837 Tax Roll for the Nacogdoches District.

I am searching for information on John SEMBERA.  He was born 6/8/1868 and died 4/24/1932 in LaSalle, Texas.  He was married to Marie WINKLAREK on 11/11/1902.   She was born on 8/28/1884 in Caldwell County, and died in LaSalle, Texas on 10/17/1945. This is all of the information I have on John SEMBERA, as he died when his son was only 13 and no family history was passed along. Thanks for any help you can send my way. My grandfather was named Charles O. VESS. He was born in Jackson County on Sept. 20, 1897, and died on Aug.2, 1953.  His parents were James and Nancy VESS from Jackson County. He was born on June 18, 1864 and died on June 23, 1949. She was born on May 3, 1877 and died on July 20, 1949. I don't know her maiden name and places of birth and

I have kind of a funny situation. My g-grandparents did not live in Jackson County, but my g-grandfather Swen JOHNNSON who was born in Sweden, immigrated to the US and lived in Nebraska. Swen, however, went on a cattle drive to Texas and was killed in Jackson County, Texas. Can anyone help me verify this?

Karnes Company. He later served in Capt. Owens Company A, Permanent Volunteers. Following the war he returned to

Looking for death record, obituary, burial site for WILLIAM G. FORD and wife MARGARET P. GEORGE (FORD). Married in Washington County August 5, 1845. Son ZACHARY W. FORD born in Washington County in 1846. They appeared in the 1850 census in Jackson County Texas. A daughter MARY ANN FORD (LOTT) was born in Jackson County in 1850, and a son, WILLIAM GEORGE FORD, in 1857. These all appeared in the 1860 Jackson County census. These latter two children returned to and were married in Washington County. Have letter written by this WILLIAM G. FORD in Old Washington to a brother in Tennessee dated 1841. There is no 1870 census record of WILLIAM G. and wife MARGARET GEORGE FORD in Washington, Jackson or Grimes Counties. Tennessee from Old Washington,Have no record of final resting place of above named parents.

They left Cherokee county and moved to Erath county. There was also a John Jackson SPARKS that could have been a close friend that migrated with the ISAACKS and later married Sarah E. Know the family of Charles Neely, born 1820's, wife Jane Ann NEWTON, arrived in this area in the 1850's. Charles was born in Tennessee as was his first two sons (I.N. and A.V.) Arthur marries Julia A. ROBINSON. I.N. and A.V. were children of Charles first wife who the children list as having been born in Tenn, whereas Jane Ann NEWTON was born in Arkansas.Possible that the mother's first name was Louisa (both boys name their first girl Louisa). Any information on these families, where to verify or refute, would be greatly appreciated.

I am researching the Ira McDONALD family in or around Lavaca County, TX. Ira is shown on the 1850 Lavaca County Federal Census as being born in Va. occupation as a Blacksmith. His wife may be named Mary. His children are listed as Alvin K. McDONALD, Mary J. McDONALD, Eliza A. A. McDONALD, George W. McDONALD, Andrew McDONALD, Sarah J. McDONALD, and Benjamin Franklin McDONALD. Benjamin is my greatgrandfather. He was born July 4, 1847 in Lavaca County and the family was still there for the 1850 census. By 1872 Benjamin was in the area of Randolph County, Ill and Perry County, MO. He married Susanna HUTSON of Perry County, Mo in 1872. They lived in Kaskaskia, Randolph, Illinois and had 5 sons.

Sometime prior to 1902, Zadock DUSTIN, with his wife, Isabella DRYSDALE moved from Houston, Harris Co., TX to Edna, Jackson Co., TX, to help his son, Louis Albert Dustin, operate a cotton gin. His dau., Phoebe Tucker Dustin, b. Columbus, Franklin Co.,OH, 02 Sep 1866; d. Houston, Harris Co., TX, 09 Jun 1951; m.John Joseph CLEDE, b.New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA, 13 May 1863, d.Houston, Harris Co., TX, 08 May 1929. Three of their six children; Ivan Roy Clede, b.13 Dec 1894; Emile William Clede, Sr., b.06 Dec 1897; and Edmond Bryan Clede, b.30 dec 1899 (and died at birth); were all born in Edna, Jackson Co., TX. I have found a birth certificate for Edmond Bryan, but no others. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who runs across any Clede in their research; whether from Jackson Co., TX, or anywhere else in the world. I have yet to find any Clede who was not directly related.
