San Saba Cemeteries

Adams: The
2nd Adams Cemetery is off of Hwy. 190, toward Lometa, this would be
East, out of San Saba Town...on dirt road just before going
out of San Saba County. Not many graves here.
Ballard
...on old Ballard Place ...only one stone with a name on it.
Barnett.. on old Davidson place.. A small Mexican cemetery next to
it with a few stones. This cemetery is in a pasture, and I do
not know if it can still be found, it was not kept up... information
from 1970 reading
Chaney
Graves.....The graves are on the old Pool place, and may not
be found again. About 3 or 4 graves. Stones missing or have
been destroyed.... only one partly legible....
Crawford..
also known as Whitehurst ......8 miles East of San Saba on Brown's
Branch..."
Gray Cemetery
is completely up to date. Its located East of Cherokee... this is
my husbands family.
Hanna
Cemetery is now called Cherokee City Cemetery....
Hillcrest....
old cemetery on southside of San Saba town.... still in use. The
Hwy. department to put up signs last year.....still in use.
Latham or Lathum...
Called Latham, it is back of the old Jack Lathum home, with Lathums
buried in it. I believe some family members changed the spelling.
The Old
Pantotoc Cemetery is in Mason Co., but a lot of
folks from the town of Pontotoc, which is in San Saba, are buried there.
Rough Creek
also known as Smelser .... It is usually referred to as Old
Smelser at Rough Creek.
Sides graves....
a few miles south and east of the #2 Adams site two graves
... Sides surname.
