The community of Dalzell shows up on the General Highway Map of Brown County from 1936.  It was located South of Brownwood off Hwy 377 on the Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe Railroad line.  Postmasters of Dalzell:  Jeff F. Stofner, 7 Apr 1903 and W. J. Blair, 11 Feb 1904.  On Jun 15 1904, the Dalzell post office closed.
